Vermont after Hurricane Irene and Flooding Photos around the State of Vermont, around 260 roads are blocked or washed away, and 30 Highway Bridges in Vermont had to be closed, which sure has hampered the rescue efforts of 13 Towns. Those communities and have been dependent on the Army National Guard helicopters to fly in food and water to the folks which live in them.

Record flooding in communities throughout the region of Vermont sure was hit hard.
Nearly every major highway in Vermont damaged by floodwaters.
4 to 6 Historic Covered Bridges were destroyed.
Vermont after Hurricane Irene and Flooding Photos around the State of Vermont,13 communities in Vermont were totally isolated and unable to leave due to washed-out roads, according to Vermont's Secretary of Transportation.
Hundreds of thousands with in the region are still without power this afternoon.
It could be weeks before all of its customers will get their power back.

Open House being held in Quechee, Vemont, on Wednesday 17 March 2010, there going to be an open house all day at the Mid Vermont Christian School.
Mid Vermont Christian School is located in Quechee, Vermont, between White River Junction and Woodstock, Vermont. Off of Route 4 at West Gilson Avenue and Marsh Family Road. The School's facilities are located on about ten acres of land.
Mid Vermont Christian School offers an education for preschoolers through the 12th grade.
Open House being held in Quechee, Vermont, attendees are going to be able to take a tour, visit with the administrators, sit in on a class and your more than welcome to stay for the entire day, if you would like to.

They have exciting New exhibits and programs going on.
Discover the hands-on Tree House Exhibit
hang out with wild, weird and whimsical creatures who call the tree's their home.
You can wander miles of interpretive walking trails aiong the Ottauquechee River

Kids and Adults have a lot of fun walking the trails at VINS!
You can watch the Wildlife Services Staff nurture injured birds.
There is a beautiful butterfly and hummingbird garden for folk's to meander through.
There are daily live raptor demonstrations put on. At 11:00 A.M., 1:30 P.M., and at 3:30 P.M.

They have a very nice Nature Store for visitors. It's open 7 days a week. From 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
They have a covered picnic area for your enjoyment.
The VINS Nature Center is located just 1/4 mile west of the Quechee Gorge, on Route 4, in Quechee, Vermont. From I-89 take Exit 1 to Route 4 West.

Admission - Adults: $9.00, Seniors ( 65 plus ) $8.00
Youth ( 3 - 18 ) $7.00, Children 2 and under are free
VINS members free
Special Rate days
On 16 August and the 17 all Vermont Residents $5.00
On 23 August and the 24 all New Hampshire Resdents $5.00
Theres alot to do and see so plan a day to visit VINS and have a wildlife of a time!
