Capital of Vermont

All though the Vermont Lawmakers, are wrestling with layen folk's off in State agencies, and closures of some of the highway rest ares, cutting back on the plowing and salting of the highways in the winter. Buy doing this move folk's lives have been put at dangger, during winter diving months, and puting a freeze on highway money for towns to fix roads. They are showen a different fiscal picture for them selves. They are going ahead and leting them selves receive a pay raise of 1.8 percent. Thanks to a measure that was passed during the 2005-2006 legislative session that they tied their pay to an annual cost-of-living adjustments negotiated for State employees.

Instead of saying we will go with out a raise for the good of the State and the folk's that live in the State of Vermont. The State Lawmakers, will start in January will be paid $625.00 that is up from $614.00 this year, for each week the Legislature is in session. The House speaker and the Senate president pro tempore will be paid $692.00 each.

Now heres even more of a kicker, Under the rates that have been set by the Federal General Services Administration's Office of Government, the Vermont Lawmakers will also be getting a $10.00 increase in their nightly lodging allowance, to $93.00 a night. They can also receive $54.00 a day for meals, way can't they brown bag it. The Lawmakers also get 58.5 cents per mile for their commute to Montpelier.

Although I am not a resident, of the State of Vermont. I do dive on the highways and roads in the Counties and Towns of Vermont.

Right now somewhere in Springfield, Vermont there is a Fox sitting with pricked ears on top of a mountain. Fox

There is a Black Bear having some quiet timeBlack Bear

There are two Eagles talking over where to have their familyEagles

There is a Moose enjoying life Moose

Around here, connecting with nature is not difficult and it comes quite naturally. You can do it just by simply going bird watching, hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing, or just out taking photographs.

According to the Vermont Fish and Wildlife, there are no less than 84 wildlife management areas throughout the State of Vermont, to see and enjoy wildlife. There are also several National Wildlife Refuges. The Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge, for an example, attracts large flocks of migratory birds to it's quiet waters and wetlands. On the shores of northern Lake Champlain, you'll more than likely to see an abundance of waterfowls, such as mallards, black ducks, wood ducks, ring-necked ducks, and snow geese.

When you and your family are out enjoying nature, remember

Don't use lead fishing sinkers. Lead sinkers are deadly to loons and waterfowls.

Be sure to leave nature just as you found it. Don't even carry bait or bucket water from one waterway to another. Doing this can lead to the invasion of non-native species.

Control your pets at all times.

Stay on designated hiking trails.

Always be careful with your campfires.

Most of all, be sure to get out and enjoy the outdoors! And let's keep Vermont a haven for wildlife and wildlife lovers.
