According to the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, the Mount Vernon-Anacortes, WA Metropolitan Statistical Area had the 30th best housing market in the country of the 287 metropolitan statistical areas measured. We have slipped a bit, last year we were the 3rd best, but we are still doing better than 89% of the Nation, and that isn't bad at all!
Our strong market is not limited to our local area. The Seattle-Bellevue-Everett Market ranked 19th overall. In the state rankings, Washington was the 5th best state overall. So, unless you want to live in Utah, Wyoming, Montana, or New Mexico you are in the best state to own a house! - better than 90% of the Nation!
One last statistic that I can't resist passing along... Since 1980, Washington State's house prices have gone up a whopping 411.89% compared to the National Average of 308.02%.
Ok, so enough with all the numbers. The bottom line is that our beautiful state is financially a great place to own a home and the market is healthy! But we knew all of that already, didn't we?
Congratulations Washington Homeowners! If you're looking to move on from your current house, call me. We're just coming into one of the best times of the year to buy and sell homes.
If you don't own a home yet, call me at
(360) 708-2929 and together we'll fix that! Isn't it time to Live the American Dream of home ownership! Owning a home is one of the best financial moves you can make in life.

Oyster Run 2007 is almost upon us! For those of you that live in the Northwest and haven't experienced Oyster Run in Anacortes, it is a blast! Our little town gets converted into a giant party with Bikers, Bars, Beer gardens, Boisterous fun, and Unmuffled exhaust. It all happens on Sunday September 23rd. There is no specified time or route to participate in the run. People even show up at the start of the weekend to check out the town and participate in the pre-run festivities. Downtown really gears up for the weekend by bringing in live music for the weekend. For complete details go to the official website http://www.oysterrun.org/ There are lots of links to local information on their site.
This is a very family friendly event. I take my boys downtown to look at the bikes and of course the people watching is fantastic. Here are a few pictures of the Bikes and the masses of people that come down for the food, fun and entertainment.
