I just ran across this article in eppraisal's newsletter.I thought that you would all appreciate it. I gets me thinking that I may never know where we are headed next.It does seem that people have a heart. I have seen a lot of kindness to those that are going through difficulties these days and it warms my heart.
Stay in your home as a renter after foreclosure
Freddie Mac launched an initiative to allow qualified tenants and former owners to rent bank-owned properties after foreclosure. They will continue to suspend evictions until April 1, 2009 to ensure there is ample time for current occupants to learn about the options available to them under the new initiative.
To qualify for a lease, the tenant or former owner must occupy the property and show they have adequate income to pay the monthly rental amount established by the property management company based on market rents for the area in which the home is located. Occupants must agree to allow the home to be shown to potential buyers as it will be marketed for sale during the lease period.
Additionally the home must be in safe, habitable condition and meet all local codes for rental properties to qualify.
I think it agreat way to help someone out and to keep the property in good shape. Which can be rare in foreclosures.
What are your thoughts?

There has been a lot of talk recently about foreclosed homes. Yes, there are great deals to be found right now. It is said that one in every eight mortgages is in jeopardy of defaulting. There is a crisis...
However it may be short lived. The government is making housing a priority. Right now there are countless programs that are going into effect to help home owners stave off foreclosure. This is good news...
However it appears that time is limited. With an aggressive plan in place to reduce the amount of foreclosures on the market the remainder may sell quickly. There is a site to go to...

Have you received your ballot? If so it is time to weigh the decision of supporting the North Mason Schools in an effort to modernize and educate the children in our community.
It is not a secret that times are tough. We are all experiencing challenges, and our local schools are not immune. At the most inopportune time it has come to our immediate attention that the schools our young citizens are being educated in are no longer able to hold up. As much as we would like to put this off until better times... there is no better time.
Serious thought and consideration were put into making this request of our dedicated tax payers, and even though we wanted to... we could not wait. I have added a link so that you can visit the site and review the videoand decide for yourself if the bond is needed. Thank you for taking the time to look out for our kids and their futures as well as our own.

The economy today is more challenging than it has been in the last several years. It hurts to see how people are struggling to make ends meet. We are having a little relief from the high gas prices, and I hope it lasts a while.
The reason I am writing this is that it is no secret that finances have become tight for many of us. I hear about it everyday, andpeople are being faced with tough decisions. During the holidays it can be hard not to feel guilty that you can not provide your children and relatives with everything they ever wanted. Our family sat down for a talk this year about this very subject.
We have decided to adopt a local family for the Holidays. I wish I could say that everything is perfect at our home, but we also have it tight this year as well. The difference is we can pay for the house, the lights and the basics, and others can not. I hope this year to bring a little relief to a neighbor, in hopes that when they get on their feet they will pass it on.
One of the things I want to stress however is that if you are struggling, ignoring the problem will not make it go away. Make the call, and make payment arrangements with your creditors. You are not alone and when things change- and they will, you will have saved your credit and be even that much closer to recovering completely. Make the call it is never too late. Remember when it comes to the holidays-spending time together, and making memories will last far longer than most store bought gifts.

Santa is pretty hip. He is now accepting e-mails. I can see how this would save him a lot of time. My daughter just wrote to him, and the elves are already responding! We expect Santa to write back very soon. I understand he is out feeding reindeer right now. So, if you have an excited little one at your home here is a link to Santa's e-mail. Good luck. I hope you get everything on your list!
