When I started in the business I was young and new. A lot of people questioned my experience. And rightfully so. I had an answer though. My Broker Richard Bell- You know him as the SURFERDUDE,he has been in business about 30 years.
This was my source to tap into anytime I had a question. He had been there and done that or knew of someone who had. He could pull out answers from his vast knowledge of many different markets, and had solutions that were tried and true for almost any scenario. Nothing surprised him even the market like we are experiencing today. In fact he was warning us about it long before it ever hit- so we could be prepared. To bad he could not have tipped off the government.
My Point in this post is this. We on Active Rain have tapped into a gold mine of knowledge. Not only is Richard here, but so are many others with his length of experience or just experiences. If you ask the question some one here has been there done that, and has an answer. The best part is that they all want to share it with you.
As a new Agent you have over a MILLION years of combined experience that you can access here at Active Rain. So if you are not already a member and are just checking out the sight you have nothing to loose and everything to gain...
And it is FREE for the taking!

I just wanted to take a moment and remind everyone of the importance of Shopping LOCAL.
Especially in the current economy our LOCAL stores are counting on us. Gas prices have fallen and it is a little easier to patronize the big chain stores, but don't forget about the LOCAL guy down the road who is trying to make a living to.
I watched on the LOCAL news tonight, a story about a hardware store who had been in business 60 years and was now calling it quits. We are not only loosing a place to shop - but LOCAL jobs as well.
I am glad that our two LOCAL stores are in good shape. I am personally going to make a point of shopping in my home town, and support our LOCAL economy. I hope that maybe you too will be inspired to do the same.
PS...I am working on editing...do you like it.

I was doing some research for a friend who was relocating to Western Washington. As I pulled up house after house in a variety of neighborhoods, we started to look more at what the prices in each were, and the communities that they offered as a gage for where she wanted to live. Below is a comparison of Renton, Washington- close to Seattle and Tacoma, as compared with Mason County just 30 minutes from the Tacoma Narrows Bridge deck. Both offer great amenities. Their difference would be urban and more rural.
Renton: Average Cost per Sq. Ft. Average Sq. Ft. Average asking price
$189.00 1347 $237,321.00
Mason County: $155.00 1615 $228,202.00
The values seem to be in Mason county. It all depends on what you are looking for, and what it is worth to you. If you are in the market for a new home, give me a call and I will put the numbers to the test and do a market analysis before you purchase. It is important to be educated on the communities, and what they offer before making an educated decision on where you will buy your next home.

This is a picture taken inside Allen's Billiards and more located in Downtown Belfair, Washington. Not only do they serve the best ice cream on the planet- they are a great place to go if you just wanna have fun. Offering several pool tables, championship dart boards, energy drinks,espresso,14 different bottled beers, and a fantastic selection of Olympic Mountain ice cream used in making the most delicious banana splits you can imagine!
All ages are welcome and it is definitely a family friendly environment. Allen's Billiards and more... is more. It is a place that you take take the family on a laid back rainy Saturday, and spend the day. It is a great place to just hang after school, and the perfect place to have a first date.
I would like to thank Sean Alllen for adding a little something special to the North Mason Community, and promoting a safe and fun place for our kids.
So stop by today- or any day, and enjoy a scoop of coconut macaroon cookie ice cream or a Mango Madness smoothie and thank Sean for me-a great guy with a great idea.

I attended the North Mason Chamber after hours event this evening, and I know a secret...they really have a great time. I walked in and did not feel that usual awkward" I wish I knew someone here" feeling. They are a great bunch of people, who all seem to get along, and want to promote our local businesses.
The music was great, the food was excellent, and I had a great time. If any of you are considering joining the North Mason Chamber of Commerce I strongly recommend that you do. What I discovered tonight was a positive uplifting group of people who put their community first. What more could you ask for.
A big thanks to all of you tonight who pulled off such a wonderful evening. It was very impressive. Keep up the great work!Thank you once again for sharing the gift of LOCALISM with our community. We truley appreciate all that you do!
