8 reasons "why Bothell"?

I "LOVE" living in Bothell. Why Bothell?

  • Easy commute to Seattle and Bellevue! Also easy commute to Everett Boeing!
  • Kirkland/Woodinville are right next to us - easy access to wine-tasting, dining, shopping etc.
  • Easy access to Mill Creek Town Center/Alderwood Mall.
  • Bothell has become such a vibrant and energetic town w/two big business Parks (many employment opportunities!) but still has a country feel.
  • Great schools. Whether you have kids who attend school or not, owning a property in a good school service area will be a great investment.
  • A good old 4th of July parade in downtown Bothell every year!!! (I LOVE this parade!)
  • The 27-mile Burke Gilman trail and many more great parks for biking, walking etc.
  • Ranch Drive-in (their burgers are the best!) Countryside Dounut House, Jalisco, Pen Thai, Hana Sushi, Rusell's, Maltby Cafe (I don't think this has a Bothell address, but hey! This is the best place to have breakfast!)...

I have lived in 3 continents in my life. Fukuoka/Tokyo-Japan, Bonn-Germany, Honolulu/Bothell-US. Out of all these cities, Bothell (or I may say Seattle) is my favorite place to live. If you want to live in the outskirts of Seattle, you might want to consider Bothell as one of your options! It is still affordable compared to Seattle and the Eastside.
I've noticed that many empty lots along 35th/39th are picking up some activity again the past couple of months. There will be many more new homes soon. I remember Bothell being very 'country-ish' when we moved up here 18 years ago. I remember Chestnut Highland, Chestnut Trails, Red Hawk and Paloma were being built back then... I remember Windsor Estate, Foxglove, and many more were being built. Bothell has changed a lot but still manages to keep a country/community feel. I love the energy at Pop Keeney during the HS football season! Those BHS kids have the greatest school spirit! You see the stadium covered with Blue-BHS's school color! It is so awesome!

Now, do you want to move to Bothell? Mill Creek? Or any towns around here? Any questions? Let me know how I can help you!

Buyers... are you still on the fence?

There are many buyers that are on the fence. They might be waiting for the market to hit the bottom, or waiting for the interest rates to go lower. Whatever the reasons, there are many people that are waiting for something. If you are not sure if you are ready or not, please ask to yourself...

  1. Why do you want to move? Why are you waiting? If we found the perfect home today, is there anything that would keep you from buying it?
  2. How soon do you want to move? How long have you been thinking of moving?
  3. How do you feel about this move? If you have kids, how do they feel about the whole thing? What are your kids school requirements?
  4. What price range are you looking at? And how did you come up with the number? What monthly payment would you feel comfortable with? Have you talked with a loan officer?

Find out your motivation level, emotion concerns and financial consideration... If you are a first time home buyer, I am sure it is a huge commitment and a scary thing, but I know you can find the way to make it happen if you are serious about it. Especially you know most likely you will take advantage of the $8K tax credit if you can buy it by 12/1/09. Yes, there is much to learn and many to keep in mind, but your agent will walk you through step by step and make sure that your transaction will go as smooth as possible. If you currently own a property, do you have to sell your home in order to buy a next home? I know it could be very stressful to have a contingency. Been there done that twice before becoming an agent myself. So I think it is fair for me to say that I know how you might feel. At today's market, it might take a few months to sell it. But the pending numbers are going up... It is slow but it starts picking up. So what do you feel? Do you feel ready to make things happen? Any questions?
