About Everett's Beverly Lake

It's a quiet Saturday afternoon and if I had any doubts about it, I can tell fall has arrived just by the sounds coming off the lake! It's still warm enough to have the windows open and all day long it's been the sound of geese. I caught a quick shot of a few of them but as evening comes, the lake will be practically covered!

I love living on Beverly Lake most all of the year but there is something special about fall on the lake!

Affordable Lake Front Living! Beverly Lake - Everett, WA

Tucked away in an Everett neighborhood, a block away from Starbucks and Safeway and only a few minutes from Boeing, is a little known haven of affordable waterfront living! Beverly Lake is a private, non motorized lake that has no public access. Surrounded by single family homes, condominiums and two apartment complexes, the lake is only accessible by residents and has no public beaches or boat launch. Motorized water craft are not allowed but the lake is plenty large enough for rowboats, paddle boats and canoes but still small enough to be navigated by inner tube! Any day of the year, you're liable to see someone fishing on the lake but on a hot summer day, the sounds of splashing children (and adults!) drift across the water.

For a small lake, located in the middle of the city, there is an abundant amount of wildlife that calls Beverly Lake home! Of course, there are ducks that live on the lake year round and there is nothing more adorable than watching little ducklings following Mom around! There are, of course, quite a few squirrels and a family of raccoons that live on the island. Twice a year we get the usual influx of geese but rather than just fly by, Beverly Lake is often chosen as the perfect spot to spend the night. While things can get a little loud when they swoop in and out, it's magnificent to look out and see that many birds on the water all at one time! If you happen to be out in the middle of the night, you may get to see our resident heron and last summer, we even had our own eagle!

The north and west sides of the lake are single family homes and almost all have small wooden docks and a couple even have slides! Unlike some lake front communities, all of the homes on Beverly Lake are on standard size city lots and range in size from 2,20 square feet and up. Most have traditionally sized backyards and it's not unusual to see volleyball nets or fire pits. There are only a few single family homes directly on the lake and they don't come on the market very often. Since 2001 only three of these homes have been sold with prices ranging from the upper $200,s to $440,000. Ownership of the island in the middle of Beverly Lake is split among the single family homes.

The south and east sides of the lake are primarily multi-family complexes with condominiums and two apartment complexes. There is also one mixed use complex that is currently being converted from apartments to condos. On the east end of the lake is Village By The Lake, a 10 building complex which is the biggest of all the condos on the lake. They have several buildings that back up to the lake as well as Picnic Island and a clubhouse. There are several, smaller, complexes on the south side of Beverly Lake including Lakeside, Boardwalk I & II and Park Place which are either on the lake or have lake views. Condo prices range from the mid $70's for one bedroom units to the mid $100's for a 3 bedroom / 2 bath unit. Most all have reserved parking and many offer amenities such as swimming pools, additional storage and fitness facilities.
