Seniors Day in the Park - Come frolic in the sun at Hovander Park on Wednesday 8/6/2008. This special event will feature a BBQ lunch, local entertainment, door prizes, activities, vendor booths and dancing. The cost is $5.50 for individuals under 60 and a suggested $5.50 donation for those 60 & over. Tickets are available in advance at your local Whatcom County Senior Activity Center or at the ticket booth on the day of the event.

The Washington Civil War Association presents BATTLE at Hovander Park. The two day event includes multiple battles with infantry, cavalry, & artillery; a fashion show; medical demonstrations; & living history in camps.

The dates & times are:
Saturday, August 9th, 9:00AM until 5:00PM

Sunday, August 10th, 9:00AM until 3:00PM

Two battles a day will take place:
Saturday at 11 AM & 3 PM Sunday at 11 AM & 3 PM

Admission is:

FREE - Children (5 & under)

$2.00 - Children (6-12)

$4.00- Seniors & Military Personnel (with ID)

$7.00 - Adults
