Happiness is not in our circumstances but in ourselves. It is not something we see, like a rainbow, or feel, like the heat of a fire. Happiness is something we are…
A quote of John D. Sheerin
When I first read this quote I had to read it several times to absorb all the meaning it portrayed. It sounds old fashion to say you can't buy happiness but as I get older I understand that happiness starts from the inside as do riches...

I wasn't planning on writing a post right now, but I just read a blog post and I commented on it and then I decided I think everyone would like to hear. The post was about technology changing our industry. He went on to go through the history and evolution of what real estate agents were doing back in the 70's before I was born up to today. He was also questioning if technology was CHANGING the industry.
There is one thing that bothers me about these statements. I have heard them a lot on ActiveRain. There are two sides to what we do. And there are two sides to any business really. We have our business which is what we do and then there is the marketing of our business.
Technology isn't changing our industry it's changing the way we market our business's. It's been the same all through out history of real estate agents. So I hope that helps some people who think that technology will be the end of the real estate agent. Trust me! It will not! There is still too much involved in a real estate transaction that people can't and shouldn't leave that scenario.
I think if we focus how we think of our business in this way, we won't get caught up in the confusion. I also, think that if we focus it this way we all will be so much more productive as agents. There's your business and then there is marketing. They are two seperate things. :)
