Alpacas are primarily bread for wool, while their cousins the Llama are used as pack animals. These guys probably have done very little hauling in their life. I took their picture outside of La Conner WA recently while visiting the Tulip Festival.

While visiting the Tulip Fields in La Conner WA recently we saw this garden shed and thought it looked interesting. Do you think it looks like a Hobbit House? Can you imagine Bilbo or Frodo Baggins coming out for a walk in the gardens?

The annual Tulip Festival runs April 1-30 this year, but a warm wet winter has lots of flowers coming up early. The Roozengaarde display gardens were alive with hyacinth which filled the air with their incredible aroma. If you are planning a trip in 2010, come early as I believe the Tulips blooms will peak early.

Wordless Wednesday, It's Winter Now, But Spring's Coming!

La Conner Washington is about 90 minutes north of Sammamish, an easy drive most days. For 2010 the Annual Tulip Festival is April 1-April 30^th. The best time to see this event changes every year, these pictures were taken in March. With our warmer than usual winter I imagine 2010 may be an early year too.
