Researching areas in Kitsap County is a priority of mine as a real estate professional in the area.  Not having grown-up here in Kitsap County I have the added joy of learning the area history and why things are the way they are.

Over the last couple of weeks I have spent a lot of time in the Manchester area.  The homes I have showed or previewed were listed as being in the 98353 zip code. Some have a city name of Port Orchard and some have a city name of Manchester.

I had never thought of “Manchester” as a city so off I went to figure out what this was all about.  No there isn’t a Manchester City in the true sense of “city”, but Manchester is a separate census area, has a Community Council and very active volunteers.  The citizens of Manchester are very interested in their area of Kitsap County and have formed several committees/groups to address their city issues.
