Maryhill Museum Open Car Show Dazzled In The Gorge

Yesterday, we stopped by the Maryhill Museum Open Car Show, just outside Goldendale, Washington. Mel and our boys enjoyed looking at the vintage and modern cars, examining engines and chatting with the car owners. Each found a car or two they woudn't mind taking home. Sam found his absolute dream car, the Audi A8 (last photo). The car show was organized by the Goldendale Motorsports Association and was held in conjunction with the Vintage Auto Races by Sovren. The event was held on the grand lawn of the museum and was followed by trophies and an afternoon catered dinner.

The Good Life Exhibit opens and Car is King Weekend will be held at the Maryhill Museum of Art on Sept 26-27, 2009

This event features an open car show and the grand entry of the vintage race cars competing in the Hill Climb race on Sunday.

Kids can join the fun with Classic Veggie Car races-designed and made by children from vegetables-compete on a 12 foot ramp.

The Maryhill Café will be available both inside and out.

The Maryhill Arts Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 15-16, 2009 at the Maryhill Museum of Art. You will find over 50 artists displaying and selling art as well as live music performances, hands-on art activities for families, and food vendors at this festival. There is something for everyone at this free event held at the beautiful Maryhill Museum in Klickitat County, Washington.

Maryhill State Park is located in Washington just across from Biggs, Oregon via the I97 Bridge. It is about 35 miles from Hood River and 15 miles from The Dalles. The 99 acre park is right along the banks of the Columbia River with a nice rocky beach area, swimming area, and 2 boat ramps. You can camp, windsurf, swim, waterski, and fish. A full-scale model of Stonehenge stands just one mile from the park. The Maryhill Museum of Art is nearby as well. The park is open year round for camping and day use. Summer hours are 6:30 am to dusk. Winter hours are 8 am to dusk.
