Mazama Washington has been eagerly awaiting snow storms to bring in fresh powder for prime cross country ski conditions. Below are great links and photos of the ski trails in Mazama. I stepped out of skis into snow only to be waist deep. Keep your skis on!
The trails were just awesome this morning with sunny gorgeous skies and plenty of snow.
For weather reporting in the mountains check out the Northwest Avalanche site http://www.nwac.us/
forr ski trail reports for the Mehtow Valley Sports Trail Association check out:http://www.mvsta.com/grooming2.html

Yes you heard that correctly, for all us slope dopes, Loup Loup is fully opened with all runs and chairs running. So come and get it because another big storm is supposedly on the way.

You heard of the Bridges of Madison County well here are the bridges of Mazama. Mazama is really in Okanogan County. Mazama it is a rural town tucked up in North Central Washington and close to both the Pacific Crest Trail and the Canadian Border. We are just about 15 miles east of the Crest of the North Cascades and a popular destination for people longing for sun after a rainy season in the temperate rain forests of the beautiful coast and west side of Washington State. Mazama is also a world class destination because of the recreation we enjoy. Here are some pictures of the bridges along one of the most popular trails in Methow Valley for visitors and locals alike. Next time views along the trail!

Even now late fall Methow Valley 2011 the bike trails are just spectacular. Layers are a wise commodity as you can get quite a range in temperatures as you pedal along. Once that sun sets BRRRRR and when you first start out it can be a bit nippy so having layers, gloves, and a hat under the bike helmet are all good ideas. However before you know it you may be stripping off those layers as you find a nice healthy sweat forming after pedaling up a few of the hills in the area.
Here are some pictures of the trail itself, stay tuned for bridges of the Mazama Community Trail coming soon.
Knee deep in falling leaves late October 2011 Methow Valley
The neon bright orange pine needles on purple rock of the trails is like being in the middle of a Peter Max Poster.
The sparkly sections of the bike trail are made with recycled glass:
The Mazama trails are quite beautiful in their own right not to mention the spectacular views of the Methow Valley that are opening up more and more as the leaves start to fall. Here is just one of many eye candy on this special Methow Valley Bike Trail just minutes from the Mazama Core and suitable for all ages young and old.
