About Sammamish's Pine Lake

Sammaish Washington's own Sunny Hills Elementary School get's "Great School" award.

The small but might Sunny Hills Mustaings have much to be proud of. This year the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) and the Washington Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa International bestowed the mighty Mustaings the "Great School" award. The "Great School" award was given to only 55 elementary schools.

Sarah White the schools principal was quoted on Issaquah School District's website saying, "We are honored to be recognized with this award, and we are very proud of our students and our school," and "This is the result of a school community with staff and parents that are completely focused on the success of every child."

Like all good schools Sunny Hills had help from the Parent Teacher Student Accociation(PTSA). PTSA Secretary Lisa Edwards said, "The parents of Sunny Hills students are partiacly responsible for the award, as the PTSA helps to raise crutial funds needed for the Math and Reading BEL programs."

"In the area of literacy, Sunny Hills provides programs such as the Young Authors Celebration week, during which each student writes and illustrates a professionally published book. The Benchmark Enrichment Learning (BEL) program provides extra reading support for all qualifying students.

In the area of math, Sunny Hills has focused on a unified implementation of the Everyday Math curriculum, which has included team collaboration on math assessments, small-group strategies, and targeted assistance for students with unique needs, such as English-language learners. The school has established a Math BEL program to provide struggling students with extra support." -Issaquah School District

Congrats to both Sunny Hills Elementary School's students, teachers and parents for making Sammamish Wasington students smarter!

Here are the Febuary 2008 numbers for the Pine Lake Area of Sammamish, WA. It looks as though there we only 4 sales out of 43 homes currently listed. That's a 10 months worth of inventory. That should however diminish in the coming seasonal months.

• The average price per square foot of the homes sold in the area was 226 The low was 211 and the high was 237.
• The average days on market was 83 with a low of 11 and a high of 180 days.
• There are 2 additional properties that are "pending." Meaning they are in contract and scheduled to close, jut they didn't close in Feb.
• The homes sold ranged from 610,000 to 949,990

What a great neighborhood, you will love it. Located on the southwest corner of Sammamish, you will have easy access on and off the "Plateau." This is SW Sammamish residents best kept secret...now the cat's out of the bag.

Pine Lake and Pine Lake Park are at the center of this Family Friendly neighborhood. You can swim in the summer and fish in the spring. Winter....ice skating....maybe..???(I have never seen it freeze over)
