About Tacoma's North Slope

Restaurant Review....great place, not sure we can officially call it a restaurant

Anna Matsunaga: Real Estate Agent in Tacoma, WA

Last year after school my if I had to work with my kids along and would not be home for a while I would have 3 starving kids in the back of my truck. As difficult as it can be to work with 3 kids along, it is impossible if they are also hungry and tired.

Frisko Freeze could not solve the tired, but often was on fast solution to the hungry part. Plus it is an adventure to eat sitting in the bed of a truck or on the tail gate which is what we did. I found it a fun time to sit and talk with them and a time when they usually managed to get along as well.

Frisko Freeze

Frisko Freeze, an institution for everyone who lives, works or goes to school down town, in New Tacoma or the North Slope.

The food is typical American burgers, shakes, chicken strips, fries and such. The service is fast and the food while I won't categorize it as healthy does not taste fake, likely from what I can tell made with good ingredients. The shakes are extra good, to the point that I can't seem to resist drinking a little of my 2 year olds ( of course she never finishes and of course no one wants to share theirs with her) The fries are particularly good. Prices, reasonable.

The best part though I must say is the experience. So if it's hot out and you're hungry it's a great place to go. If you want good tasting fast food, but want to skip the McExperience head to 1201 Division, Tacoma WA 98403

2007 Home Sales in Tacoma's North Slope Historic District

2007 Year In Review - Tacoma's North Slope Historic District Home Sales

Tacoma North Slope Historic District Reviewing the home sales in the North Slope Historic District of Tacoma for 2007, the following was noted-

Total # of Homes Sold - 63

Sales averages-

Average square footage of home- 2642

Average price per square foot- $178.81

Average Days On Market- 89

Average Sales Price- $457,196

The High Sales Price was $1,600,000

The Low Sales Price was $159,000

Interestingly May and July both saw spikes in sales. These two months reported the most sales in a single month for the year. Which means April and June is when the homes were put under contract. May sales average days on market was 52 and July's average days on market was 92.

Based on the number of sales (closed transactions), currently there is about a 10 month supply of homes if not another home goes active on the market!

Another interesting fact is that the average original list price on a home in the North Slope is $482,621. And when it goes under contract the average is $476,580. And yet when a home sale actually records and closes the average sales price is $457,196. Just 95.93% of the current list price. Which tells us that home sellers are starting out in the market a little bit overpriced for what buyers are willing to pay today. Only 20 of the 63 homes received full asking price.

If you have any questions about these numbers, please feel free to contact me. I'd be happy to go over the data with you.
