Many want to see this photo as evidence of Global warming. Is it?
In my humble opinion it looks like polar bears frolicking on an ice berg. We can not see all of the ice berg, but what we can see is how stable the bears appear to be on the little icy platform.
Polar Bears are nimble. They jump and swim and can get anywhere they please for the most part. Just ask the citizens of Canada that can not seem to keep them out of anything they happen to want.
The dramatic picture makes it look as if the iceberg is melting below them like a Popsicle on a hot day.
I think since we can not see the entire berg that is more likely that they jumped to this end to watch the boat with the photographer as it passed by. What do you think?

Our last General Membership meeting of the Mason County Association of Realtors, held at the Alderbrook Resort and Spa on Hood Canal), had all the glitter and glam of the Oscars.
Alderbrook (a cool website by the way) Resortwas a fitting venue. Realtor Divas and tuxedo Gents came forward in Oscar style to share with the membership all of the awards our association was presented with at the recently held annual Washington Realtors Hill Day.
Mason County may not be the largest association in the State or the first one you think of when it comes to receiving State and National awards. But do not let our size fool you.
The Association has been recognized for our RPAC investments, local membership participation and State participation. Several of our members serve on the State board and our Quality of Life committee has had National recognition as well.
I would like to take a moment and thank the membership and leadership for all that they do in promoting our industry, serving in their communities, protecting property rights and keeping our Senate and Legislature informed on current market conditions and the needs and concerns of homeowners in Washington State. A Big Kudos to this dedicated group of Realtors!
They are hard working individualsand they do this for each of us without monetary compensation. In fact they believe in the cause so much that they dig deep into their own pockets for travel expenses, classes, RPAC investments and not to mention their valuable time.
When we all work together, for one another, we can make an impact. So whether you are the one attending a meeting, a conference call or supporting with your hard earned dollars- we are all in this together.
After the fun and laughter of the Realtor Oscar presentations, the membership present raised enough money at the Luncheon to send one of our member's son, who has cancer, on a special trip to Hawaii.
He desired to attend his best friends wedding. As soon as the request was heard the basket was passed out and we raised enough to see to it that he would be there on that special day. It is times like these that it makes you proud to be a Realtor. We are a family and together we all make a difference....one Realtor at a time.

Some days you just get up and the world is your oyster. This can be especially true in Mason County where we are known for oysters. (and whats with the Oysters...you might check out my other post on oysters)
Today was a remarkable day. After low clouds and chilly nights, we woke up this morning to bright sunshine and clear skies.
These kind of days make you believe anything is possible!
For me it was taking charge of the "Yes Dear" yard work list.

This is the view I had as I pulled up to meet my clients at the little Deli in Union, Washington. It had been a very sunny drive, and I had thought most of the snow we had received about a week and a half before was officially melting.
That leads me to the Denial. I showed the happy couple several homes. At one point my car got stuck and the three of us had to get out of the car and scrape the cemented snow off of where we thought the road would be. I inched my car around and we were once again on our way- this time to Hoodsport at sea level, just a few miles away.
I thought I noted a few flakes-But they must be blowing off of the trees. There were quite a few????
Up a little hill we went- more little white flakes. I thought well it must be because we are a ways up the hill. They seem to be getting bigger?????
Long story short...It was snowing, and hard. I barely made it home. It was cold, and I had a hard time keeping the wipers ahead of the flakes. If I did not get up my driveway when I did, I would not have been able to.
Good news. My clients are buying the last home we saw. The view was amazing as the flakes drifted down onto Hood Canal and swirled outside in the frosty air.

Needless to say I have been inspired to write this blog due to a real life experience.
My Mom took our girls last weekend, and they had a great time on a local farm. I missed them? My only comfort (LOL) was the weekend I would spend with my dear husband- Just the two of us.
I envisioned- lazy breakfasts in bed, walks at the Theler Wetland Trail, maybe a trip up to Mt. Rainier, warm campfires on a crisp evening, our favorite wine, intimate dinners, and late night talks.
My husband envisioned- starting a new remodeling project, ripping out a wall, Hoping to miss plumbing and important header beams, getting all of the supplies he needed at Home Depot. Dinah's company and food delivery.Coffee and a cup you can tip over without breaking. An extra trip to Home Depot to pick up what you forgot, or to find the right thing this time. And what do you top this blissful weekend off with...
A trip to the stinky dump, where you and your wife, wait in a long line of other happy couples- to enter the huge garbage room, soon it will be your turn to joyfully cast in all of your post construction debri, into a large pile of rotting refuse. Can you picture the looks we exchanged on that picture perfect day?
The next time we have a weekend alone,I am going to book a mini vacation at the Alderbrook Resort and Spa on Hood Canal in Mason County. I will have a car pick us up so that we can not possibly escape to Home Depot even if we wanted too!
