Living in Mason County and searching through the past has been a past time of mine. I love History, especially that which pertains to my neck of the woods. Mason County has a rich history and a lot of fascinating events that have gone into making us who we are.
When I first arrived here in 1984 it was a very different scene than it is today. There were lumberjacks, back woods men, and not everyone had a phone. It was very different than the life I was
accustomed to in Seattle. Life here

moved at a slower pace, and it still does. No matter how much we acclimate to a more sophisticated life one thing will always remain...the beauty of Mason County.
So whether you come and visit for a day or the rest of your life Historic Mason county is waiting for you. With events scheduled year round you will always have something to do and see. And if you take a look back into our rich heritage you will see just why so many of us call this land our home.

A quiet drive down the twisting south shores 106, will lead you into historic Union, Washington, This photo was taken at their marina on a misty morning, which cleared into a brilliant Northwest day, complete I might ad with a rainbow. If you are in the neighborhood swing by and take a moment to visit Union, and enjoy a little of the good stuff that the Northwest offers.
