West Richland is expanding so quickly it has earned the nickname of “the fourth city” of the Tri-Cities in Washington. It is easy to see why so many people are drawn to West Richland as it is the ideal place to raise a family. With the Bombing Range Road Athletic Complex at the center of the city, recreation options are not hard to come by.
There are three elementary schools to choose from in West Richland, and one middle school. The fact that there are so many schools in this town says a lot about the positive environment of the town. Crime rates are extremely low, and the neighborhoods are extremely kid-oriented with parks, swimming pools, ponds, walking and bicycling paths and the public library situated right in the middle of town. Every year West Richland puts on a Veteran’s Day Parade as well as a motorcycle rally called Hogs’N’Dogs as a fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce.
Flat top Park is a park nestled at the base of a popular hiking and geo-caching mountain/hill. At Flat Top Park, there are gazebos and soccer fields available to the general public, as well as a park and ride system put in place for government workers.
West Richland is also known for its vineyards and quaint wineries. The fertile soil and the expanse of fields make this location ideal for growing the perfect wine grapes.
Even though West Richland is ever expanding, the safe, comfortable environment is well maintained by the people who live there as well as the considerate and highly involved Chamber of Commerce. West Richland is the ideal family location due to all the attractions for youth.
