Up the Mississippi in Wisconsin....

Sally & David Hanson WI Realtors Luxury\Short Sale\CDPE\ABR\e-Pro\REDS: Real Estate Agent in Brookfield, WI

autumn We have decided with the hours that we work, we have to plan regular getaways ...yes the cell phone, lap top and newly acquired Ipad are in tow,....no customer or client gets neglected...we get the opportunity to kick back ...and relax differently than if we were at home.

This weekend....we drove to western Wisconsin during the spectacular show of fall colors...and with the warmth of 70 and 80 degree temperatures...it just doesn't get better than this ! Wandering through the countryside....beginning on Thursday...up to Minnesota...and then to Arcadia....a "country suburb" of LaCrosse.....where a college gal pal lives for a couple days of renew and remember. My friend, Celeste...took us on a tour of the Memorial Park in Arcadia....the pictures here do not do it justice. The land was donated by one of the founders of Ashley Furniture, based in Arcadia and people in the community have donated over $12 million to improvements and enhancements making this an overwhelming sight for teary eyes...as you gaze into the eyes of lifelike statues commerating our nation's history....and the benches, bricks, trees that have been donated in memory of many of the local residents. The wall you see was poured on site, the pioneers here are so lifelike, you expect them to tell their stories as you walk through the brick pathways that bear the names of the families who helped to build this very special place for all to enjoy, remember and reflect. The tour touches your heart,...not only because of the striking sculptures and beautiful gardens but to know that a small community (population 2,370) pulled together...and continues to build a bridge from the past...and help everyone remember these are people who have helped to built their future.arcadia wiArcadia Memorial ParkArcadia pioneers
