Events in Oshkosh-Saturday, February 18th There are two fantastic events in Oshkosh this coming weekend and both support very worthy charities.
One event is the first annual Heart of Winter Celebration. The focus of this event is family winter fun. Head to downtown Oshkosh to take part in events such as sledding (Mother Nature permitting), ice bowling, human shuffelboard and an indoor scavenger hunt! There will also be food, craft vendors and other fun events. The Heart of Winter Celebration is scheduled from 11:00 to 3:00. All proceeds will benefit The Day by Day Warming Shelter.
Another great event in Oshkosh this weekend is the Polar Plunge. This annual event benefitting Special Olympics is being held at Menominee Park. There are many ways to participate in the event, whether you are a Plunger, Chicken or spectator--so don't worry about having to actually jump into the frigid water of Lake Winnebago! The day begins at noon with the Plunging--this also includes a Pee Wee Plunge! Events for the day are scheduled to wrap up with a Post Plunge Party featuring Dueling Pianos from 5:00 to 8:00.
There is something for everyone happening this weekend! So, head to Oshkosh and take in one (OR BOTH!) of these great events!

I received a call yesterday from a nice gal by the name of Barb Hanson. Barb sits on the commitee for the Town of Menasha zoning. Lately there has been a lot of stress in the neighborhoods of Stroebe Island and Prospect Street in Town of Menasha and Appleton, Wisconsin due to something called "airport overlay".
The residents of these neighborhoods find themselves and their homes zoned as "legal-non conforming". Now, based solely on the conversation I had with Barb, the residents of these areas feel they're "hamstrung" due to this zoning classification to obtain lower rates on their homes via refinance or be able to sell their homes to a prospective buyer that would have the liberty of a full array of mortgage products.
Based on what we know now at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp about this area and it's zoning, the residents seem to not be put at a disadvantage, as Barb stressed to me that re-build letters would be provided. Now, as we all know, the devil is in the details........in the video above, Milly offers his services to help the residents of Stroebe Island and Prospect Street neighborhoods gain clarity and an understanding of their options.
