About Sheridan County, WY

Investment Opportunities

John Chase- Land and Ranches in Sheridan, WY: Real Estate Agent in Big Horn, WY
The weak U.S. dollar and scarcity of land makes the Sheridan Area an attractive investment possibility for foreign dollars.

Along the eastern slope of Wyoming's Big Horn Mountains stretches one of the most beautiful, desirable, and valuable real estate markets in the American West. Sheridan, Wyoming and the surrounding area offers a once-in-a-lifetime real estate opportunity for individuals in search of a perfect piece of the historic West and a solid investment opportunity.
From large working ranches, which offer multiple and diverse enterprise operations, to properties with mineral interests, sporting properties for hunting and fishing, or beautiful estates, this region is rich with investment quality properties.

The growth and popularity of Sheridan is not new; the pioneering spirit of the West is as alive today as it always has been. The Sheridan area is experiencing one of its strongest demand periods, due primarily to mineral exploration and production. Additionally, Wyoming's favorable tax climate, the Sheridan area's beauty and the people who live here, create an outstanding quality of life , which further adds to the demand. Above all else however, Land is still king and those who own ranches like those featured on our website are rarely traded. Their scarcity is truly a testament to both their intrinsic and monetary value.

If you or one of your clients is interested in investing in land in the Rocky Mountain West we would be happy to work with you.

Polo in Big Horn, WY

Winter in Big Horn can be great for snow mobiling and back country skiing, but what everyone loves is the summer season. For polo enthusiasts, whether players or fans, we have the Big Horn Polo Club, which is the oldest continuously played polo club in the United States. This is a fun, and down-to-earth polo club where we play and often times we get to play and practice with some of the best players in the world who come to play high-goal polo at the Flying H Polo Club, which is just across the fence from our club. We're blessed to have some of the very best polo in the United States during the summer and certainly one of the most beautiful venues. At the Flying H, they host several North American Polo League (NAPL) tournaments and in the summer of 2007, they hosted the very first NAPL Tournament. We also got to experience a 30-goal game, which was a great charity event to benefit the Downtown Sheridan Association (DSA) and the Goose Creek Restoration Project in Sheridan. This was an incredible exhibit of some of the best polo ever seen in the United States. It's rare to have a game where there's 30 goals of talent on each team. Thosands of spectators came out and watched an exciting game of polo.

Minerals, Land, Investment Opportunities in Sheridan, Wyoming

John Chase- Land and Ranches in Sheridan, WY: Real Estate Agent in Big Horn, WY
Looking for a place to invest your capital gains? Whether you want to pay your taxes now or do a 1031 exchange, there are many investment opportunities in the Sheridan, WY area. We have a pretty strong economy, which can be attributed to energy development and great land. We have some great opportunities in working ranches, with or without minerals and energy development. Not only are our ranches scenic with fantastic hunting, but the larger ranches can offer an enterprising person a nice return on investment. In many cases, this may require a new management paradigm, which can be attained after attending a Ranching for Profit school. At any rate, if anyone out there is considering an investment opportunity, we might be able to help.

It was COLD but BEAUTIFUL today in Big Horn, Wyoming

It's 20 below outside right now and the snow squeaks when you walk in it. In the full moon, you can see the mountains almost like daylight and the breath coming from our horses noses looks like dragon smole in the night. There really is a silver lining to every cloud. Hey, you've gotta look for the positives! But check out the beauty. This is a beautiful place and if you don't like the weather, just give it a few months.

The news media.

Are we living in a state of fear? I think that generally, we are. "Global warming". It's not PC to even question somebody whe they speak about global warming as if it is fact. Never mind the inconvenient, cold, hard facts. The news media appoints themselves takes it upon themselves to creat negative situations, which most people just take for the truth.

Today, I just read another article about how real estate agents are "bailing out" and "packing up" due to the slumping housing market. Did the housing market across the country just happen on its own, or was it fueled by the news media. I'm sure that some markets were a bit super heated and may have required a market correction, but it seems to me that the media tried to scare everyone into sitting on their hands.

Based on what I see, our market is still pretty strong, but it could start tilting the other way.

I just wonder what the market, left to its own, might have done without all the negative hype.
