The meadowlarks are singing and the sound of bulldozers and excavators fill the air. It is the sound of energy and wildlife at the base of the Bighorn Mountains. Many people want to keep the area unchanged. Many people want to take what is there and ship it to the surrounding area. The dirt covered trucks and the sound of equipment are music to my ears. It means that jobs are being created and we get to import less oil from Saudia Arabia. It means that we can carry guns in our trucks and have the opportunity to see large bull elk out our windows.
The sound of a meadowlark is prettier, but the sound of large trucks paves the way for America's freedom.

We who live here already know how great it is, but in 2006, Sheridan, Wyoming was voted the #1 Western Town in the US by True West Magazine and now Outdoor Life Magazine has selected Sheridan, Wyoming as the #3 town for outdoor living out of the best 200. Interestingly, 5 of the top 6 are western towns. It's a trend that's becoming more noticeable. For sportsmen and those who love outdoor living, check us out. But it's more than just outdoor living; it's overall living, like low crime, friendly faces and a lifestyle that's mostly disappeared from most places.
Here's a sample of what you might expect.

Spring is on the horizon but there is still time for those who believe winter is just more fun. There is nothing to compare to the great outdoors and the winter wonderland opportunities in Jackson Hole. Ski, Snowboard, Snowshoe, Snow-tubing, Snowmobile, Sleigh Ride, Dog Sled, Hot Springs, Spas, its all here in Jackson Hole amid gorgeous surroundings.
Many snow resorts are limited to a December - February prime time but here in Jackson Hole reports show 397 inches of snow in the mountain resorts so there is still time to come up and enjoy all the snow related activities amid excellent conditions (the weather is warming and the snow pack is great).
Not only are the choices for enjoying the great outdoors excellent but so are the choices of where to stay. You can choose from simple to five-star accommodations which include Dude ranches, Bed-n-Breakfast inns, motels, hotels, and lodges.
Unique adventures include Snowshoe tours through the wilderness led by a National Forest Guide, sponsored by the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Winter Naturalist Program, sleigh rides in the National Elk Refuge and dog sled tours through national parks. You can make your own adventures on the slopes or by snowmobiling around the national forests. Which ever you do you are bound to catch a glimpse of the area's wildlife: elk, bison, moose, deer, antelope, bears, mountain lions, and coyotes to name a few of the more famous. There are over sixty species of wildlife in the Jackson Hole area.
Jackson Hole also offers both natural and commercial hot spring experiences. The most popular winter natural hot springs are in the Granite Creek region.
After your tour or exhilarating run on the slopes you can enjoy visiting Jackson's art galleries (that can keep you busy for a day or two alone as there are more than 30 galleries), learn about the area and the old west at one of the museums or shop in variety of specialty shops.
At the end of the day dine at one of Jackson Hole's excellent restaurants and enjoy its western-style nightlife.
The airport is right in town so make your reservations now to come to Wyoming's Winter Wonderland - Jackson Hole.
This may also be the right time for you to check out Jackson Hole real estate. Mix a little business in with your pleasure and consider investing in your future because the future is looking good for Jackson Hole as a community and real estate as an investment.

If you had come to Teton Village in the year 2000 and then not returned until this year you'd be very surprised at what has happened. In that time a complete transformation of the Village has taken place and it continues today. I don't have the exact numbers but an intelligent guess would be there has been close to $500M in investment at the Mountain Resort. New projects that have appeared in that time include The Teton Club, The Four Season and its Residences, Teton Mountain Lodge, Crystal Springs, the newly completed Hotel Terra, the villages first green Condotel, and a new tram thats under construction as we speak. Looking forward another 1-4 years and you'll see Teton Mountain Lodge #2, Hotel Terra 2, and The Little Nell. The mountainside building next to the new tram will also be raised and turned into a sized use project much like Crystal Springs. All this and I haven't even mentioned the Valley's newest addition! The SRA group broke ground on a new 18 hole golf course designed by Tom Fazio. The community, called Shooting Star, will also include 100 single family homes, 32 cabins and 48 town homes sprinkled around the spectacluar golf course and adjacent to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. This will truly be one of the valley's hottest new properties.
